Krista Torralva
Krista Torralva is a veteran legal reporter who covers pro bono, public service and diversity for The Texas Lawbook Foundation. With a career spanning more than a decade, Krista has documented some of the most significant legal battles in Texas, from high-profile criminal trials to landmark civil litigation.
Previously a courts reporter for The Dallas Morning News and a freelance writer for The New York Times, Krista’s reporting has been recognized by the State Bar of Texas’ Gavel Awards, the Texas Association Press Managing Editors, the National Headliner Awards Program and various local chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists.
In addition to her reporting, Krista volunteers as a Dallas Court Appointed Special Advocate, supporting children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
Krista graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. She lives in Dallas’ North Oak Cliff with her husband, Fares Sabawi.
